Request/Posting Number 0712146 Classification Title Executive Director, Administrative Technologies Working Title Executive Director, Application Services Job Class 429000 Type of Position Administrative Professional Percent Appointment: 1-100 (For Student Employment and Graduate Assistant Only; state hours per week) 100 Representation: Non-Union Department Administrative Technologies - 03380000 Job Category Staff General Summary The Executive Director of Administrative Technologies oversees the Application Services (APPS) and Web and Interactive Communication Services (WEB) units. The position is charged with creating the vision of APPS and WEB, including identifying goals as they relate to Educate Connect Elevate and the strategic goals of Administrative Technologies. The Executive Director is charged with the planning, organization, staffing, direction and work control of both APPS and WEB and oversees the work for delivery on specific project initiatives. APPS is the primary custodian of applications and actively manages the administration and development of more than 50 applications (enterprise and other line of business) to deliver high quality technology services to the University. The APPS team also addresses requests from campus users to improve the functionality of the student information, human resources, budget, and other enterprise applications, and customizes the delivered product to comply with the University's business processes. On a continuing basis, the Application Services team also provides production support to the Illinois State campus community. WEB is responsible for coordinating cross-functional project teams to promote the web presence for Illinois State University and its business units, promoting practices that directly and positively improve the recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff. WEB sets standards for usability and branding for websites and web applications within the University. Additional Information: Required Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, business administration, or related discipline. 2. At least 5 years of progressive leadership in enterprise information technology 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts 4. Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into service level requirements 5. Ability to resolve business and functional problems and to communicate effectively with various constituents 6. Demonstrated experience in developing, communicating and integrating a realistic vision into operations 7. Demonstrated experience in adapting to emerging trends in IT and determining their applicability in the organization 8. Demonstrated experience in forging and maintaining professional relationships 9. At least 5 years of work experience designing service solutions in the areas of hardware, telecommunications, and/or networking 10. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead, coordinate and facilitate projects with limited supervision 11. Documented success in the development of web interfaces and/or other data systems or reporting tools 12. Documented experience with running large scale enterprise applications 13. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 14. Foundation qualification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITILv3) 15.
