General Summary The Assistant Director for Leadership and Community
Development is primarily responsible for: 1. Advisement: Advising
and providing oversight for advisement of Diversity Advocacy
Organizations (DAOs) 2. Leader development: Assessing group
dynamics and leadership abilities, and providing situational
direction, resources, and coaching tailored to the assessed
priorities of each group/individual. 3. Group development:
Developing and implementing outcomes-based learning and
team-building sessions for the collective DAO student leadership
group. 4. Programming: Supporting and overseeing the delivery and
execution of DAO programs and services. 5. Supervision: Supervising
graduate assistants Additional Information Illinois State

Bachelor---s or equivalent degree 2. One or more of the following:
a. Two or more years of full-time professional experience in
antiracism, equity, inclusion, and justice programming b. Two or
more years of advisement of student groups/organizations that
advocate and program for historically marginalized student
populations. c. Master---s or equivalent degree in College Student
Personnel Administration, Social Work, Education, Counseling,
Ethnic or Women and Gender Studies, or similar field. Master's
degree must be conferred prior to start date. Desired
Qualifications 1. Master's degree 2. Experience with advising
historically marginalized student groups and
antiracism/equity/justice programming Work Hours Core Hours:
8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday Mandatory Physical Requirement
Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable
accommodation: 1. Ability to lift and move 40 lbs. of materials
using a cart. 2. Ability to stand for several hours at a time. 3.
Ability to effectively communicate on a daily basis. 4. Ability to
work for extended periods at a computer workstation. 5. Ability to
conduct or attend meetings in various locations across campus. 6.
Ability to perform sedentary work involving sitting the majority of
