Job Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist, Early Intervention provides and
directs speech therapy services to children aged birth to three,
including assessment, treatment, program planning and
implementation, related documentation, and communication. Functions
under physician's orders.Services take place in homes and in
community locations throughout the great Chicagolandarea. Connect

you!RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:Provides speech therapy
services to children and initiates referrals when appropriate and
in accordance with Bureau of Early Intervention procedures.Conducts
evaluations annually and produce six-month reviews of IFSP plan.
Determines need for intervention/treatment and produce IFSP goals
as requested.Produces discharge reports in advance of reaching
age-out of Early Intervention to assist with transition process, or
as required at discharge from caseload for any other
reason.Interprets and communicates evaluation findings to parents
and other team members.Establishes treatment schedule and provide
frequency of services as determined by IFSP plan. Communicates and
documents changes to IFSP as needed.Develops treatment plans and
methods to achieve identified goals.Participates in co-treatment or
IFSP consult with other team members to ensure coordination of
patient care.Implements and conducts treatment as outlined in
treatment plan.Monitors child's response to intervention and
modifies treatment as indicated to attain goals in accordance with
IFSP plan.Develops appropriate home or community programming to
maintain and enhance the development of the child in their own
environment.Documents results of child's assessment, treatment,
follow-up and termination of services.Adapts treatment to meet the
individual needs of the child.Recommends and obtains appropriate
equipment to improve patient's communication or feeding skills.
Instructs family in use of augmentative communication devices if
appropriate.Coaches and Instructs parent/caregiver in appropriate
speech-language procedures or home program to allow carry-over of
therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities.Participates
in discharge planning.Supervises students (if applicable and if
Clinical Instructor training is completed).Reviews the quality and
appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual
speech therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using
predetermined criteria.Participates in family/ caregiver
education.Confers formally and informally with other team members
in coordinating the total rehabilitation program of the
resident.Adheres to Encore Early Intervention department procedures
regarding documentation of speech therapy services.Attends
pediatric team meetings as required.Assumes responsibility for
ongoing continuing education and professional development to
maintain licensure and Early Intervention credential.Records
billable treatment times according to Encore Early Intervention
department procedures.Provides treatment in accordance with
established standards of practice, department procedures and
productivity standards.Maintains safe and clean work area and
adheres to facility/company safety standards.Complies with all
infection control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for the
healthcare professional.Consistently demonstrates sound judgment in
the evaluation, planning, implementation and follow-up of therapy
programs.Maintains positive relationships and rapport with
coworkers, service coordinators, family members and Encore office
and management personnel.Maintains caseload and communicates with
management regarding caseload issues and availability for new
referrals.Adheres to established confidentiality standards as
defined in the HIPAA policy and procedure manual.Projects a
positive and professional image at all times.Performs other duties
as assigned.Requirements:Master's Degree in Speech-Language
Pathology.Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligibility for
Clinical Fellowship Year.Current state licensure or license
eligible.Early Intervention Temporary or Full CredentialRegular
attendance.Compensation: $48 - $53 / hour
