Certifications: Chemotherapy certification preferred; OCN and
ONS/ONCC preferred Must-Have: - Required chemotherapy
skills/experience: Administration of chemotherapy Body fluid
handling post-chemotherapy Continuous infusion of chemotherapy IV
push administration of chemotherapy Management and disposal of
cytotoxic spills Monitor chemotherapy Oral administration of
chemotherapy Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values -
Required IV therapy/infusion skills/experience: Accessing ports
Administration of coagulation factors Antifungals and antivirals
Blood and blood product administration Care and management of ports
Central line blood draws Central line/implanted line care PICC line
care Starting IVs Description: This position is for an RN
specializing in Oncology and Medical Surgical. The average daily
census is 24 patients. Weekend work is required, with a rotation of
every other weekend. Floating will be required to meet facility
needs. Candidates are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
Ideal candidates should have a strong commitment to patient care
and teamwork. All travelers must comply with facility policies and
be flexible with scheduling. Local candidates are accepted.
Candidates must have the active state license in hand or be in the
application process. RTO restrictions ideally allow no more than 5
days. Candidates should be prepared for on-call duties as needed.
Various certifications may be preferred but should be discussed
during the application process.
