Provide Women and Children’s services to families throughout
Central Illinois - Level II Nursery with neonatology services -
Nurse to Patient ratio: - A Nursing Care Committee collaborates to
establish patient acuity based guidelines for nursing staffing
levels, and develops the hospital inpatient staffing plan. The
Committee’s planning takes into account evidence based staffing and
care standards established by professional nursing organizations,
as well as measurable patient and staffing outcomes, nurse
sensitive quality indicators, and financial stewardship metrics. -

Frequent nursing skills/equipment used: - Mother-Baby Nurses
provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on
the application of scientific nursing principles. In addition to
general nursing care, responsibilities of Mother-Baby Nurses
include (but are not limited to): Coordinates with health care team
members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate both mother and
infant care plans. Monitors bonding between mother and infant.
Performs emotional status checks on mother. Supports mother and
infant in their breastfeeding journey. Involves and educates
family/significant others in implementing best practices for mother
and infant care. Qualifications Certifications: Neonatal
Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 1 year - American Academy of
Pediatrics (AAP)American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); Basic Life
Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association
(AHA)American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered
Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and
Professional Regulation (IDFPR)Illinois Department of Financial and

Responsibilities Performs all responsibilities and duties required
by unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements procedures
and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains
up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to
assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare
team.Completes initial assessment upon patient admission and
develops appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards
and that is based on patient and family needs. Implements plan of
care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies
plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.Takes responsibility
for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting
safety hazards and incidents.Communicates with others directly and
in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive
feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and
confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own
learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate
solution.Fulfills all requirements of departmental
competencies.Provides care to the inpatient obstetric patient.
Monitors fetal well being. Administers medication specific to the

The compensation range for this position is $33.32per hour -
$57.31per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum
range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The
actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a
variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s
experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts
