nursing - Familiarity with telemetry, hemodialysis management, and
renal failure - Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and respiratory
care - Experience with wound care and isolation precautions
Description: Position for a Medical Surgical RN specializing in
Urology/Nephrology. Day shift hours are from 06:45 to 19:15. The
average daily census on the unit is 23 patients. This is a 25-bed
unit. Candidates with a solid foundation as a registered nurse are
encouraged to apply, including first-time travelers. Candidates
will have the opportunity to float to other medical surgical units
as needed. Weekend work is required, with every other weekend
scheduled. Cerner experience is required for charting. This is a
Magnet-accredited facility, providing acute care services. The unit
handles a variety of diagnoses, including Urology/Nephrology
illnesses and surgical procedures. Patients may include those with
kidney stones, enlarged prostates, and complex bladder surgeries. A
busy unit, approximately one-third to half of the patients are
discharged and readmitted daily. Patient care includes
post-operative management and continuous bladder irrigation.
Special equipment utilized includes central and peripheral IV
lines, urinary catheters, chest tubes, and nephrostomy tubes.
Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and
demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care. Requirements
