administration, and monitoring chemotherapy. Description: The
position is for a registered nurse specializing in oncology.
Candidates will be responsible for the administration of
chemotherapy and managing various aspects of care for patients
undergoing treatment. The average daily census is 24, with 24 rooms
available for patient care. Candidates will work every other
weekend as part of the scheduling requirements. Candidates must be
prepared to support adults and geriatric patient populations in an
acute care setting. Required skills include accessing ports,
managing central lines, administering blood and blood products, and
recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values. The position
supports an interdisciplinary team that includes physical therapy,
respiratory services, social services, and more. Chemotherapy
administration is a primary focus of this nursing role, thus
candidates should have a thorough understanding of oncology care.
Travelers may be required to float within the facility to meet
patient care needs as necessary. Strong communication and support
skills for patients and families are essential for this role.
