Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,302 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Springfield, Illinois, 62781! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical / Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Active state license required Certifications: Chemo certification preferred Must-Have: - Chemotherapy administration - IV therapy and infusion skills Description: Position available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical with oncology experience. No oncology certification required. The shift available is 3x12 or 4x12 days. Average daily census is 24 patients in 24 rooms/beds. First-time travelers are welcomed to apply. Every other weekend shift is required. Candidates with chemotherapy certification will be preferred, alongside OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications. On-call requirements are not applicable. Floating within the facility may occur as needed. Block scheduling can be discussed with management. Local candidates are accepted. It is required that candidates have an active state license. Time off requests should ideally not exceed 5 days. Candidates may be called off up to 36 hours during the assignment without payment for those hours. Candidates placed on call count as a called-off shift. Special requirements include experience in chemotherapy administration, handling body fluids post-chemotherapy, and managing cytotoxic spills. Experience with IV therapy includes accessing ports, administering various medications and blood products, and managing central lines and PICC lines. The facility is an acute care hospital with a total of 562 staffed beds, designated as a Magnet facility and a Level I trauma center. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services including physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Patient diagnoses include a mixture of general floor cases with an emphasis on oncology and hospice care.
