Registered Nurse (RN) | Surgical Intensive Care Unit Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,308 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Must float to other units within scope as needed - Must work every other weekend - Candidates must have experience in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit Description: Position is for an RN in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The shift is 3x12 nights from 18:45 to 07:15. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. Candidates must float primarily to other Intensive Care Units as needed. The hospital is a Level I trauma center and has 562 total staffed beds. Patient care will involve managing various neuro diagnoses, surgical patients, and post-operative complications. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure. Other responsibilities include managing ventilators, IVs, sedation, and administering medications. Previous charge experience is preferred. Knowledge of the Cerner charting system is required. Candidates must be open to accommodate scheduling requests. Weekend coverage is mandatory, with two weekends worked per contract. All certifications must be from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Floating to other units is required. The hospital provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Ideal candidates should demonstrate strong skills in neuro intensive care. Attention to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions is essential. The RN will also assist with bedside procedures such as bronchoscopy and central line placements.
