507 E. Armstrong Ave., Peoria, IL 61603 POSITION SCHEDULE: Clinic
hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Position Overview
Ready to turn your graduate-level ABA training into real clinical
experience? Designed for students actively pursuing their BCBA,
this apprenticeship provides supervised practice, hands-on
learning, and a supportive environment where your skills (and your
confidence) can take root! The ABA Apprentice supports Board
Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) by providing direct and
indirect services within the Applied Behavior Analysis department.
Under the supervision of a BCBA, the Apprentice assists with
treatment, evaluation, supervision, and parent training to address
behavior challenges and skill development in children. This
apprenticeship provides structured, hands-on experience designed to
build clinical competence and gradually increase independence while
accruing supervision hours toward Board Certification in Behavior
Analysis. Apprentices also function in a Registered Behavior
Technician (RBT) capacity and are required to maintain a minimum
saturation level of 60% combined RBT Direct and BCBA Billable Hours
weekly. RBT Competencies must be met before beginning Apprentice
Competencies. Education/Experience Requirements Be enrolled in
their final year (12 months from the estimated graduation date) of
a Verified Course Sequence at the graduate level for education in
Applied Behavior Analysis. Maintain passing grades in all ABA
coursework. A minimum of one year of proven successful experience
in the area of pediatric behavior therapy, preferred. Our ABA

BCBAs collaborate with families and interdisciplinary therapy teams
to develop individualized treatment plans that promote
communication, social, and daily living skills. Easterseals Central

role, you will have opportunities to work in: Outpatient Pediatric
ABA Therapy: Provide direct and consultative ABA services tailored
to each child’s goals. Community and Home Settings: Support skill
generalization by delivering therapy in natural environments.
Family Coaching and Collaboration: Empower families through
training and education to reinforce progress at home.
Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration: Partner with Occupational,
Physical, Speech, and Feeding Therapists for coordinated, holistic
care. Compensation and Benefits: Compensation for this position is
an hourly rate of $18.75 or an annualized salary of $39,000.
Compensation may be structured as either an hourly rate or a
salary, depending on the full-time status. Compensation is just one
component of the total rewards package offered for this role.

Job Functions: Provides direct ABA therapy to clients in the
capacity of an RBT. Develops individualized treatment plans that
are accountable, measurable, and result in meaningful changes.
Engages in quality assurance activities as directed by the
Supervising BCBAs which includes the supervision of clients and
staff in direct sessions, writing and updating treatment programs
that match recommendations based on evaluations. Conducts Parent
Training to assist parents in implementing programming and behavior
reduction goals. Completes required clinical initial and
re-evaluations as needed or on a minimum of 6-month basis.
Completes all evaluations, treatment progress notes, discharge
summaries, and all other required documentation in accordance with
the Easterseals Documentation Policies. Marginal Responsibilities:
If directed, participates in onboarding, initial and ongoing
training for BTs. Provides adequate and appropriate training and
supervision to RBTs for specific clients in accordance with all
applicable laws, standards, and regulations. Develops and presents
community education and/or training as needed. Other duties as
assigned. Competency Requirements Ensures client and family
confidentiality by complying with Easterseals policy and procedure,
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accessibility Act)
requirements, and any other privacy requirements as may be
specified by referral sources, funders, or other licensing and
regulatory entities. Be familiar with the current fieldwork
experience and supervision requirements outlined by the Behavior
Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Demonstrated experience with
families who have children with developmental delays/disabilities,
preferred. Advanced knowledge and skill necessary to independently
provide evaluations and treatment plans related to
credentialed/licensed field of practice. Ability to oversee and
direct team members’ case assignments and provide timely
performance-related feedback. Working knowledge of personal
computers and software (MS Office Suite). Mental Requirements: The
mental demands described here are representative of those that must

functions of this job. Requires alertness to respond to audio and
visual cues from clients, other staff members, the environment, and
standard office machines and equipment. Ability to calmly handle
and intervene as necessary during behavioral and health-related
incidents. Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and
schedules. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies. Physical
Requirements The physical demands described here are representative
of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform
the essential functions of this job. Ability to stand or sit for
extended periods of time, standing for up to 6-8 hours a day.
Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting in
order to observe, assess, and interact with clients. Ability to
utilize a computer, telephone, tablet, and copy machine. Frequent
proofreading and checking documents for accuracy. Ability to
physically implement behavior management strategies, including
responding to physically aggressive behavior. Visual and auditory
ability to work with clients, staff, and others in the workplace
continuously. Ability to drive to all Easterseals centers and
service sites within a 100-mile radius, as needed. Occasional
lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials up to
50 lbs. Work Environment Routinely works in office environments
with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
