Job Description Job Description About the Role: Orthopedic
Center of Illinois is seeking a PTA to join our Therapy Department
at our Chatham Location. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will
play a crucial role in the rehabilitation process of patients
recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions. Your
primary responsibility will be to assist licensed physical
therapists in implementing treatment plans that promote mobility,
reduce pain, and improve overall physical function. You will work
closely with patients in an outpatient setting, providing hands-on
support and encouragement throughout their recovery journey. This
position requires a compassionate approach, as you will be
interacting with individuals who may be experiencing physical and
emotional challenges. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute
significantly to enhancing the quality of life for patients and
helping them achieve their rehabilitation goals. We offer 45 minute
appointments to our Patients. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of
an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. Current state
licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an outpatient
physical therapy setting. Familiarity with electronic medical
records (EMR) systems. Responsibilities: Assist physical therapists
in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for
patients. Provide direct patient care, including exercises, manual
therapy, and modalities as directed by the physical therapist.
Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the
supervising physical therapist. Educate patients and their families
on exercises, home care techniques, and safety precautions.
Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring compliance
with safety and sanitation standards. Skills: The required skills
for this position, such as knowledge of physical therapy techniques
and rehabilitation practices, will be utilized daily as you assist
in patient treatments. Your ability to lift and carry heavy weights
will be essential when helping patients with mobility exercises and
transfers. Compassion and effective communication skills will
enable you to build rapport with patients, fostering a supportive
environment that encourages their recovery. Eye-hand coordination
will be critical when performing manual therapy techniques and
guiding patients through exercises. Additionally, understanding
universal precautions will ensure a safe and hygienic treatment
space for both patients and staff. Salary dependent upon experience
ranging from $21.00/hr to $31.00/hr.
