Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,308 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/30/2026 About the Position Job Title: Med Surg RN - Urology/Nephrology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years in medical/surgical nursing License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Charge experience - Strong foundation as an RN for first-timers - Telemetry and emergency response experience - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills - Medication administration experience - Knowledge of respiratory care - Wound care experience - Experience with genitourinary and renal cases Description: The assignment details include working nights on a busy medical surgical unit focusing on urology and nephrology. The average daily census is 23 patients in a 25-bed unit. You will be required to work every other weekend. Candidates must demonstrate a solid foundation in nursing. Charge duties will be expected as needed. The unit sees a variety of diagnoses including urology and nephrology illnesses and surgical procedures. Complex bladder urology surgeries and kidney transplants are common cases. Skills required include pre/post-hemodialysis management, renal failure care, and blood product administration. Experience with telemetry, rapid response teams, and IV management is essential. Candidates should possess knowledge of isolation precautions and wound care techniques. Experience with Cerner charting is mandatory. Floating to other medical surgical units will be required as per facility needs. The role involves continuous assessment and management of a diverse patient population. Candidates should be prepared to handle a fast-paced environment with frequent patient admissions and discharges. Daily responsibilities include patient assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The candidate must possess effective communication and teamwork skills to succeed in this role.
