Seeking experienced post-op Med/Surg RNs to provide high-quality clinical care in a supportive team environment. /n/nJob Details/n /n - Location: Peoria, Illinois (61637) — Peoria nursing jobs / Illinois nursing jobs/n - Role: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse/n - Setting: Surgical Acute / Medical-Surgical Unit (post-op, trauma, overflow medical)/n - Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 30, 2026 – June 29, 2026)/n - Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30 PM – 7:30 AM)/n - Hours: 36 hours per week, guaranteed/n - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend/n - Holiday Requirement: Rotating every other holiday/n - Charting: EPIC (electronic medical record)/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130 - $2,250 per week/n /n/nQualifications/n /n - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or documentation that Illinois application is in process/n - BLS certification (AHA required)/n - Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience with post-op care/n - Clinical skills in wound care, dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central line care, and TPN/n - Ability to monitor telemetry and use Phillips monitors as needed/n - Strong communication skills and a positive bedside manner; ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams/n - Must pass a pre-employment drug screen (OSF is a drug-free campus)/n /n/nResponsibilities/n /n - Provide comprehensive post-operative nursing care for surgical and trauma patients on a Surgical Acute/Med-Surg unit/n - Perform dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy management, and administer TPN as ordered/n - Manage drains, NG tubes, central lines, and assist with pain control interventions/n - Monitor patients on telemetry; collaborate with central station techs for rhythm interpretation/n - Assist with respiratory support including CPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy when needed/n - Float to units with similar acuity as required to support clinical coverage/n - Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC and participate in required orientation (2 shifts with preceptor 1 EPIC/professional orientation shift)/n - Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and other clinical staff to ensure safe, patient-centered care/n /n/nWhy Join This Team/n Work in a modern facility with a supportive staff caring for a diverse patient population.
