Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/20/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Springfield, Illinois, 62781! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience required License: Active IL license required Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: - Ability to float to like units as needed. - Required work setting experience: MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. - Required skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency responses. - Required cardiovascular case skills/experience: Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and Sheath Removal. - Required respiratory case skills/experience: Chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and High Flow Nasal Cannula. - Required IV therapy/phlebotomy skills/experience. - Required medication management skills/experience. - Experience with surgical drains is required. - Previous charge experience is preferred. - Cerner experience is required. - Teaching hospital experience is preferred. - Level 1 Trauma experience is preferred. Description: Position involves working in an intermediate care setting. Shift is 3x12 or 4x12 nights. Average daily census is 38 patients. First-timers are accepted. Will work every other weekend. No on-call requirement. Client may call-off up to 36 hours per assignment without payment for the canceled hours. If more hours are canceled than permitted, the client will be billed for additional shifts. Requires interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Duties include telemetry monitoring, both on-unit and remote. Involves caring for patients post cardiac procedures and managing related complications. Involves feeding tube care and management and renal failure management. Skills required include accessing ports, managing arterial lines, and central line care. Must be able to manage heparin protocols and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips. Isolation precautions and wound care are essential professional skills. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Common patient diagnoses include cardiac-related issues and respiratory conditions. The role may involve using various medical equipment and managing specific clinical procedures. All candidates must complete compliance needs in a timely manner and must complete the full assignment.
