Summary

The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the development and revision of instructor-led, virtual and web-based learning content. This position works directly with stakeholder teams, leaders and end users. The Instructional Designer will work as an integral part of a collaborative Training & Quality team responsible for the assessment, design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning content for a large enrollment management team. This individual will lead the development and execution of training project plans, and conceptualize and storyboard instructionally sound, interactive course components. This person will have primary responsibility for adding these components into learning management systems.

General Responsibilities

  • Manages content development process for new, revision, and revamp courses and assures that courses adhere to academic Pearson standards.

  • Develops and supports online learning environments.

  • Provides instructional design consultation to management and end users; assists in the development of contextually rich, engaging, and objective-driven courses that focus on applicable real-world/workplace skills.

  • Works within project management application to document course development process data including time tracking, project comments, and task completion.

  • Designs content for new hire, programmatic, and ongoing training for an enrollment management team and completes instructional design documentation to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Conducts photo research for images to supplement learning activities.

  • Uses various multimedia tools to develop multimedia pieces.

  • Communicates regularly with stakeholders during the course development process.

  • Inputs course content/components into Learning Management System portals.

  • Conceptualizes and storyboards instructionally sound, interactive, engaging web-based course components.

  • Conducts quality assurance reviews on courses and implements revisions.

  • Reviews existing courses for quality, currency, and consistency and works with instructors to enhance courses.

  • Helps to test and implement agreed-upon emerging technologies in courses.

  • Prepares course facilitators' guides and leads train-the-trainer sessions as needed.
