Director of Equal Opportunity and Access and Title IX Coordinator Position Summary: Illinois State University seeks an experienced leader committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in alignment with the mission, vision, and values outlined in the University's strategic plan to serve as Director of Equal Opportunity and Access and Title IX Coordinator. The Director serves as a senior administrative official responsible for University-wide programs, policies, and procedures designed to ensure equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination across campus, affirmative action when warranted, and equal access as well as overseeing all aspects of university, agency, state, and federal law, including but not limited to, Title IX and Preventing Sexual Violence in Higher Education Act. The Director also serves as an advisor to the President, conducts special projects and studies, and represents the President's positions and directives to various constituents related to diversity, inclusion, equal opportunity, affirmative action, and access. Working under the supervision of the President of Illinois State University, the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access (OEOA) oversees and enforces the University's program to prevent, detect, and respond appropriately to violations of University policy and applicable state and federal laws related to anti-harassment and non-discrimination statutes. To accomplish these duties, the OEOA's primary areas of accountability include responsibility for internal investigations relating to allegations of violations of the Anti-Harassment and Non-Discrimination policy, oversight of ADA policies and procedures, coordination of University's affirmative action plan to integrate core values of diversity and equity into all aspects of recruitment, screening and selection of qualified job applicants, and advising on issues related to fostering an inclusive environment, and providing educational training's and diversity resources to faculty, staff, students, administrators. Required Qualifications: Master's degree. Seven (7) or more years of experience and knowledge interpreting and applying internal policies and state and federal statutes and regulations dealing with all nondiscrimination laws including federal and state laws and regulatory practices related, but not limited to, the Civil Rights Act, Title IX, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Illinois Human Rights Act. Seven (7) or more years of experience investigating formal and informal complaints of sexual harassment, harassment, and discrimination, involving all forms of alleged civil rights violations. Three (3) or more years of experience and knowledge interpreting and applying internal policies and state and federal statutes and regulations relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act and the ADA Standards of Accessible Design and oversight of employee accommodations function. Three (3) or more years of experience and knowledge complying with the reporting requirements of government agencies related to affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and compliance reporting. Knowledge related to statistical analysis used in workforce analytics and reporting. Three (3) or more years of progressive supervisory experience including excellent leadership, planning, organizational and managerial skills including proven ability to perform as a team player. Demonstrated awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion, support a diverse and welcoming environment. Demonstrated ability to assess campus-wide training needs, develop, and implement innovative and meaningful educational programming for faculty, staff, and students relating to diversity, inclusion, and civil rights compliance. This position is Security Sensitive and is subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy.
