Process Improvement Coordinator - Decatur, IL This is a salaried exempt position. Position Summary The Process Improvement Coordinator role will develop clear and defined plans for Continuous Improvement using structured approaches to monitor and improve process performance and reliability, drive cost management through focus on energy inputs, product and process yields, input utilizations, and waste minimization. The Process Improvement Coordinator will also have leadership responsibilities for self and peer developed projects. Primary department support will be for the Facilities Management department and secondarily for the remaining BioProducts departments. This position will support the continuous improvement and optimization of the following unit operations: Process and instrument air compressors and dryers Chillers, chilled water distribution system and associated chemical management and treatment programs Cooling towers, cooling water distribution system and associated chemical management and treatment programs Bulk chemical unload and storage (anhydrous ammonia, sulfuric acid, sodium hypochlorite, refrigerant, detergent, antifoam, and water treatment chemicals) Fire protection system High and low pressure steam Truck and rail loading and unloading, movement and related support systems Essential Job Functions: Display a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture Collaboration with operations, process controls, maintenance and compliance departments to support Safety, Total Process Safety, Environmental, and Quality needs Take a leadership role in the review, improvement and or creation of KPIs, PI Vision dashboards and trends Own the Facilities Management department Continuous Improvement process, develop and execute the resulting projects Facilitate change management with the use of the MOC process Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with OSHA PSM and ADM Total Process Safety standards, FAMI-QS or other food safety standards, and environmental requirements including, but not limited to Air Permitting, Waste Management, Spill Prevention and Control, and Release Reporting Ensure process documentation is maintained to satisfy operations, maintenance and compliance needs (such as P&ID’s, Process Controls Narratives, operating targets and ranges, Process Safety Information, and technical training) Act as a resource for plant process personnel through assisting in troubleshooting and resolving problems, coaching, mentoring, and conducting training Required Experience: 5 years of relevant plant operations experience Strong knowledge of a variety of process unit operations similar to those listed in the Position Summary Experience in project management and/or work prioritization Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs, PFDs, SOPs, control narratives and equipment specifications Desired Skills: High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working. …must be willing to take the initiative Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information both professionally and concisely Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs, PI Vision and D3 process controls Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others Individual must be able to coordinate multi-talented teams to make a sustainable effort of improving the process Demonstrated problem solving capabilities; working knowledge of optimization/analytical processes and tools Working Conditions Industrial plant setting Before applying for an exempt, non-exempt or hourly job opportunity, you are expected to initiate a discussion and share your intentions with your supervisor. * If you’ve been in your current position for more than 18 months, supervisor approval is not required. * If you’ve been in your current position for less than 18 months, verbal supervisor approval is required. ?Hiring Manager- Charles Vercellino ?
